Ian is a well-known writer and comedian who, as well as headlining at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for several years, has compered and written shows for the BBC.
One of the most famous characters Ian created was a brash, loud, Yorkshireman called Ray Peacock and had several successful shows appearing as him. Unfortunately, this character is no more but Ian continues to use the name "Ray Peacock" as his comedic stage name to avoid confusion with his other activities such as acting and writing.
After leaving Newton-le-Willows Community High School, Ian went to Leeds University where he studied Drama and met up with Jon Williams. The two, together with Rob Rouse, formed a very successful trio called Big and Daft who went on to win several four and five star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
As well as appearing on comedy shows, Ian is an accomplished actor and has had cameo appearances in Comedy Lab (as Garth in Skin Deep), Doctor Who (as Banto in Blink), Terrorville (as part of the Big and Daft troupe), Harry Hill's TV Burp, Les Dawson's Finest Hour, The 11 O'clock Show and Doctors (as Billy Taft in The Other Side).
